Gîte Forge Neuve (self catering apartment)

This house is located at one of our areas called ‘La Forge Neuve’ (the new forge), in the valley of the river ‘Ourche’. It is a quiet area surrounded by forests on the side of two lakes, just over a mile from our main site ‘Thietry’.

Furnishings

The gîte has been furnished to house a maximum of six people. It has been renovated completely and it has been refurnished. The whole house is heated by a central heating system.

The house has its own entrance taking you into the kitchen at ground level. The kitchen cherishes a beautiful old nature stone fireplace. Although not in use this hearth contributes to the friendly atmosphere of the house. At the kitchen there is a worktop, sink, gas cooker and a dining table and chairs (including a high-chair).

An ante-room leads to the living room. This room is furnished with a large settee, two easy chairs and a stove for burning fire wood. The terrace doors take you to the terrace with patio seats. Especially in summer this is a good place to enjoy both shadow as well as the warmth of the sun. This place also offers a beautiful view of the lower lake, where you can take a swim.

Next to the kitchen a hallway leads to the toilet and a big bathroom with shower and wash basin.

From the kitchen a flight of stairs takes you up to the first floor. Three large bedrooms have been created here: one room with a double bed and two rooms with 4 single beds all together. Furthermore a cot and baby dressing table is available.

The gîte faces the house ‘la Forge Neuve 2’ located at a large open field. This area is open to you for example to let the children play.

When renting a gîte you may make use of all our facilities just as our camping and guesthouse guests. For instance: our shop, the art studio, participation in workshops or guided walks. You may also join in for meals (please book before 10 a.m.) which are served at the main area ‘Thietry’.

Availability

Upon arrival the gîte is available from 4.00 p.m. On departure we ask you to leave the gîte no later than 10.30 a.m.

In the period April 25th until May 10th and June 27th until August 29th the gîte is for hire only for a full week or multiples thereof, running from Saturday to Saturday. Outside this period weekend or midweek rentals could be agreed upon.

The prices below apply for a week and do not include cleaning charges, tourist taxes and membership fees.

• Deposit € 150, 00
• Membership fee € 3, 00 per person, aged 18 years and over (valid for one calendar year)
• Tourist tax 18 years and over € 0, 30 p.p p.n., children aged 13 to 17 € 0, 20. Children under 13 do not pay tourist taxes.
• Dog (subject to prior consultation) € 2, 50 per day
• If you are staying over a fortnight you will receive a 20% discount over the period hereafter.
• Prices mentioned are subject to change

If you do not stay full board you may have lunch and/or dinner with us (please reserve before 10.00 a.m.).

• All meals (including coffees and teas): € 25, 00
• Children aged 4 to 12 receive a 50% reduction.

The environment

We have a water purifying system (sand filters). That is why we can only allow the use of biodegradable cleaning liquids (already provided), shampoos and soaps. You could buy these at any organic health store or our shop at Thietry.

Upon receipt of our written confirmation please pay the deposit of 50% of your holiday costs into our Dutch bank, account number 3182753.

Please pay the remainder upon arrival cash in Euros. We also accept credit card payments.
